HuePort

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

The short version: HuePort analyses colors entirely on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to us. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your data. The app includes advertising and basic analytics, described in full below.

This policy explains what information the HuePort mobile app ("HuePort", "the app", "we") collects, why, and what your choices are. It applies to the iOS and Android versions of the app.

1. Information we do not collect

HuePort does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth in order to use the app.

Your camera and photos

HuePort uses your camera to read color in real time, and can read colors from images you choose from your photo library.

These images are processed entirely on your device. Camera frames and selected photos are not transmitted to our servers, and we do not store, retain or have access to them. Colors you save are stored locally on your device.

2. Information collected by third-party services

HuePort uses two Google services. Each collects information directly, subject to Google's own privacy policy.

Google AdMob (advertising)

HuePort shows an optional rewarded video ad that you can choose to watch in exchange for additional daily captures. You are never required to watch an ad in order to use the app.

On iOS, HuePort requests non-personalised ads only. The app does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not access the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA) for tracking purposes.

AdMob may still collect limited technical information needed to serve and measure ads, such as device type, operating system version, approximate region derived from IP address, and a device identifier.

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, which features are opened and where errors occur — so we can prioritise improvements. This includes app usage events, device and OS information, and an approximate country-level location derived from IP address.

This data is not linked to your identity, because HuePort does not collect identifying information in the first place.

3. Purchases

HuePort Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or receive your payment details. The app stores only a simple local flag recording whether Pro has been unlocked on your device.

4. Data stored on your device

The following is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us:

Deleting the app removes this data from your device.

5. Children

HuePort is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
